FOUNDER


Susan Austin is a Senior Mental Health Occupational Therapist with over 20 years’ experience working with adults in acute inpatient, community rehabilitation, community case management, forensic, group therapy and psychosocial recovery mental health services. Over the last four years she has enjoyed supporting people to gain new skills by facilitating group programs including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Anxiety and Depression, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Creative Writing and Women's mental health groups.

Susan has a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from the University of Queensland (1999) and has completed further training in a range of assessments and therapeutic skills, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Assessment of Motor and Process Skills (AMPS). She holds registration with AHPRA and is a member of Occupational Therapy Australia, Association for Contextual Behavioral Science and the Mental Health Professionals Network.

Susan has a passion for assisting people to identify and reconnect with meaningful life roles to improve their quality of life.

Susan works with individuals and their support people by engaging them in assessment and tailoring interventions based on their specific needs. She has a person-centred, holistic approach to therapy.
